Where in California You Can Support Black-Owned Restaurants
Rallying (and dining) with local businesses.
Since the protests began last week following the death of George Floyd, many Californians are flooding the web with information on black-owned restaurants across the state.
According to Kat Hong, a 25-year-old editorial assistant at Infatuation based in Los Angeles, “It came from a place of pure helplessness,” Hong said. “It’s difficult to know how best to support the black community right now.”
So she began compiling a list for her readership. “This is a way to put money directly into businesses that are owned by black people,” she says. “It’s important to support these businesses every day—not just this week or until all this is over—every single day.”
